In some medical conditions like diabetes, we are more risk of developing gingivitis and gum disease and it is also associated with fungal infections like oral candidiasis or thrush. During osteoporosis, the first sign is bone loss around the teeth and the jaw, tooth loss, or ill-fitting dentures. You might not think of dental plaque as a cause of heart disease but it can have serious implications for you. When your teeth are suffering from a buildup of plaque it is a result of too much bacteria accumulating can enter your bloodstream and attach themselves to the blood vessels increasing clot formation. You may be surprised to know that gum disease and inflammation of gums can also be linked to Alzheimer’s disease. This condition occurs as most age and results in a decrease in cognitive function, hindering the brain’s ability to remember things and think clearly. Some bacteria in your mouth can be heaved into your lungs, causing pneumonia and other lung diseases.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is important for your smile and your self-confidence. Regular brushing and flossing not only helps to keep your teeth looking white and bright. Prefer to eating healthy food and limit food with added sugars. Use mouthwash to eliminate food particles left after brushing and flossing
So to overcome these problems we need to have regular check-ups with the dentist and keep our mouth clean and hygienic
